The dispatcher's day, from one queue
Every booking request lands in one intake inbox. Review it, schedule it, assign a dock with a recommendation you can override — and every load you schedule is owned by a named person from that moment.
What a dispatcher does in Docking Buddy
- Reviews booking requests in a single intake inbox, however they arrived — forwarded email or text, CSV import, portal, or API.
- Schedules appointments and edits booking details as plans change.
- Assigns docks with intelligent recommendations that match trailer type, temperature, hazmat, and weight against how each dock is configured — and can always override the suggestion.
- Becomes the named owner of each load at scheduling, so accountability is automatic, not a separate step.
- Sees PO validation flags — missing, unlisted, duplicate, wrong date, or a different pallet count — before the truck arrives, when the facility has PO validation on.
Nothing gets scheduled sight unseen
Requests from every channel collect in one queue and a person reviews each one before it becomes a booking — including requests submitted through the API.
Recommendations, not overrides
Docking Buddy suggests the right door and start time from the load's requirements. The dispatcher confirms or picks a different door — the recommendation never locks you in.
Ownership is automatic
Scheduling a load claims it. Every booking shows who owns it and who closed it out, so follow-up never depends on whoever happens to be standing there.
Fewer surprises at the gate
With PO validation on, mismatches are flagged at booking time — warn-only by default, or a gate hold until a manager releases it, as the facility chooses.
Controlled per facility
The facility manager decides whether PO validation is on and whether it warns only or holds a truck at the gate, and whether the public API that feeds the intake inbox is enabled.
